Magic in the Moonlight

A cynical, polished Brit (Colin Firth) portrays a Chinese magician in a world renowned act in the 1920s. Knowing every trick in the book, he is approached by a colleague who claims to have meet a young clairvoyant (Emma Stone) on the French Riviera who could not be disproven and hopes to put the esteemed, haughty illusionist to task. Woody Allen's Magic in the Moonlight is light fare and somewhat trivial compared to the director's greater work, but is still idyllic and well acted, with several genuine laughs and more substantial than most fodder being dumped into theaters.
